New Holland’s CR11: A Golden Leap in Harvesting Power!

Machinery manufacturer New Holland has unveiled its latest innovation in the agricultural industry – the CR11 combine harvester. After ten years of development, the CR11 was officially presented to the public at the Agritechnica 2023 trade fair in Hanover, Germany. The combine harvester features a golden color, celebrating New Holland’s receipt of the only golden Agritechnica medal for innovation. However, despite its flashy appearance, the CR11 will be marketed in New Holland’s familiar yellow color.

One of the standout features of the CR11 is its impressive threshing capacity, which is 20% to 40% higher than that of the current flagship model, the CR10.90. To achieve this, New Holland developed wider and longer threshing rotors. The CR11 retains the same threshing principle as the CR10.90, with two longitudinally positioned threshing rotors. However, practically every component of the CR11 is new. The rotors themselves have increased in size, measuring 61 cm in diameter (previously 56 cm) and 3.5 meters in length (previously 2.9 meters). The threshing rotors are driven by a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and also have the ability to rotate in reverse.

The CR11 is powered by an engine block that delivers a maximum of 775 hp. The engine block is now longitudinally oriented in the machine, counterbalancing the weight of the unloading auger. Notably, the left threshing rotor directly drives a feeder roll at the front, ensuring that the threshing rotor and feeder rotor always have proportionally the same rotational speed.

Efficient distribution on the sieves is another key feature of the CR11. The sieves are equipped with sensors that weigh the material on the sieve and automatically distribute it evenly. This feature is particularly useful on slopes or when using only one side of the cutter bar.

The ejection drum behind the rotors has also been upgraded, with a larger size and the ability to always pass the straw through the straw chopper. A sensor at the back constantly measures the straw length, allowing for automatic adjustment of the counter knives.

The CR11 is equipped with a grain tank with a capacity of 20,000 liters and an unloading speed of 210 liters per second. The combine harvester is displayed on VF900/65 R46 tires, making it approximately 4 meters wide. However, it can also be fitted with tracks, allowing the machine to remain within a width of 3.5 meters.

The CR11 is available with a cutter bar ranging in width from 12.5 to 18.3 meters. This combine harvester represents the latest technology from New Holland and is currently only available on this model. The smaller CR combine harvesters will retain their existing threshing technology but will feature the new look and the new MY2025 cabin.

Overall, the CR11 combine harvester showcases New Holland’s commitment to innovation and technological advancement in the agricultural industry. With its increased threshing capacity, improved distribution system, and larger size, the CR11 is set to revolutionize the harvesting process for farmers around the world.
