Agri-EPI Centre, in collaboration with Crop Health and Protection (CHAP) and the Centre for Innovation Excellence in Livestock, is excited to announce their attendance at this year’s CropTec Show. Taking place on the 29th and 30th of November 2023 in Warwickshire, the event promises to bring together some of the UK’s leading progressive growers, agronomists, industry experts, and advisors.
For the past decade, the CropTec Show has been a platform for showcasing technical knowledge, services, and advice in the agricultural sector. It offers a unique opportunity for networking, attending seminars, and engaging in discussions. Agri-EPI Centre is thrilled to be part of this event and will be represented as the Agri-Tech Centres, alongside CHAP.
At CropTec, Agri-EPI will be showcasing three innovative agri-tech start-up businesses that they have supported: Earth Rover, AgriSound, and Vertinetik. These companies have developed groundbreaking technologies aimed at revolutionizing different aspects of agriculture.
Earth Rover, founded in 2017, aims to change the way organic produce is made by utilizing artificial intelligence and robotics. Their Concentrated Light Autonomous Weeding and Scouting (CLAWS) rover has been developed to remove weeds, including herbicide-resistant ones, without disrupting the soil or causing safety hazards. This innovative technology not only improves efficiency but also helps farmers achieve their net-zero targets by being fully solar-powered.
AgriSound, on the other hand, focuses on protecting biodiversity and the world’s food supply. They specialize in remote insect technology and environmental sensors that monitor pollinator populations. Through a collaborative biodiversity monitoring project, AgriSound, along with other partners, aims to demonstrate the effectiveness of digital technology in remotely monitoring challenges and quantifying nature. Their in-field sensor devices, known as PollyTM, provide a comprehensive understanding of pollinators on farms, helping farmers make informed decisions.
Vertinetik, a drone solutions company based in Shropshire, is dedicated to simplifying agricultural technology adoption for small and medium-sized growers. They recently collaborated with Agri-EPI on a project to tackle Ash Dieback Disease (ADD) and other tree diseases. By implementing emerging technologies and developing predictive models, Vertinetik aims to help farmers and woodland owners map and monitor ash trees, identify disease infestations, and plan routes to recovery. This project provides an affordable solution to protect the economic and ecological value of Ash Trees.
Agri-EPI Centre will be sharing their expert knowledge, technical expertise, and support services at CropTec. This is an excellent opportunity for attendees to learn more about these innovative technologies and how they can benefit the agriculture industry.
CropTec Show is an event not to be missed for those seeking to stay informed about the latest advancements in agricultural technology. It provides a platform for industry professionals to come together, exchange ideas, and explore new opportunities. With Agri-EPI Centre’s presence and the showcasing of these innovative start-ups, attendees can expect to gain valuable insights into the future of agriculture.
