Bobcat Unveils V-Drive Telehandlers for Tough Terrains

Bobcat has expanded its agricultural telehandler range with the introduction of three new high flow models, the TL34.65HF V-Drive, TL38.70HF V-Drive, and TL43.80HF V-Drive. These additions mark a significant step forward in the company’s commitment to providing versatile and high-performance solutions for agricultural applications.

The new models are equipped with the innovative V-Drive continuous transmission system, which offers a seamless and efficient driving experience. This system allows operators to drive from 0 to 40 km/h without the need to stop the machine or change gears, enhancing operator comfort and eliminating jolts that might occur with traditional transmissions. The V-Drive system uses dual hydraulic motors in series, maintaining the same performance as the current gearbox transmission while providing a smoother ride.

One of the key benefits of the V-Drive transmission is its adaptability to various terrains. The system offers enhanced grip and stability, making it ideal for rough or slippery surfaces. This feature is particularly valuable for agricultural operations, where terrain can be unpredictable and challenging. The transmission’s ability to provide consistent, seamless performance ensures that operators can rely on their machines, even in demanding conditions.

In addition to the V-Drive transmission, the new models come with several smart functions designed to enhance operator comfort and efficiency. These include Cruise Control, which allows operators to maintain speed without using the throttle pedal, and ECO-Ride, which optimizes engine speed for fuel efficiency. The Stop & Start feature automatically stops the engine when idle, reducing fuel consumption, noise, and emissions. This not only saves on operational costs but also extends the machine’s lifespan, potentially increasing its resale value.

Noise reduction has also been a focus in the development of these new models. Bobcat has worked with external acoustic experts to significantly reduce both internal and external noise levels. The hydraulic motor has been suspended with four rubber mounts, resulting in a 60% decrease in vibrations, and the whistle sound of the transmission has been eliminated. These improvements contribute to a quieter and more comfortable working environment for operators.

The new V-Drive models also feature a redesigned hydraulic tank with a higher capacity, providing better performance and reliability. The Turtle and Rabbit hydrostatic speed ranges are still available and can be selected through the joystick, optimized for specific application requirements.

Florian Hilbert, product manager for telehandlers at Bobcat EMEA, expressed enthusiasm about the new features, noting that they provide an excellent solution for customers seeking high-performance alternatives. The inclusion of these innovative features as standard in the base models ensures that customers benefit from advanced technology without additional costs.

The introduction of these new models underscores Bobcat’s commitment to innovation and customer satisfaction. By offering a choice between the existing gearbox system and the new V-Drive continuous transmission, Bobcat caters to a wide range of customer preferences and operational needs. This flexibility, combined with the advanced features and improved performance of the new models, positions Bobcat as a leader in the agricultural telehandler market.
