£46.7M Farming Tech Fund 2025: Apply Now for Grants Up to £

The Farming Equipment and Technology Fund 2025 (FETF) is now open for applications, marking a significant opportunity for farmers, growers, foresters, and contractors to invest in cutting-edge equipment and technology. Part of the broader Farming Investment Fund, FETF 2025 aims to bolster productivity, enhance slurry management, and improve animal health and welfare across the agricultural sector.

The application window, which opened on 29 May, will remain accessible for six weeks, closing at midday on 10 July 2025. This initiative is designed to provide financial support for a wide range of items that can reduce costs, improve efficiency, protect the environment, and support animal health and welfare. The fund is structured around three key themes: Productivity, Slurry Management, and Animal Health and Welfare. Applicants are encouraged to explore all available items, as they may find valuable resources outside their usual areas of interest.

One of the standout features of FETF 2025 is its flexibility in funding. Applicants can request grants ranging from £1,000 to £25,000 per theme, with the percentage of the item cost covered varying depending on the specific equipment or technology. This competitive grant scheme will assess and score all applications after the submission window closes, meaning that not all applications will be successful, and some may receive partial funding.

A substantial total of £46.7 million is available in this funding round, with £30 million allocated to the Productivity and Slurry Management themes and £16.7 million earmarked for the Animal Health and Welfare theme. This significant investment underscores the government’s commitment to supporting the agricultural sector through technological advancement and innovation.

To assist potential applicants, a webinar was hosted on 21 May to explain the intricacies of the fund. The session covered essential topics such as what the fund offers, who can apply, how to apply, and how applications are assessed. A recording of the webinar is available for those who missed the live session, providing valuable insights and guidance for navigating the application process.

The implications of FETF 2025 are far-reaching. By providing financial support for advanced equipment and technology, the fund has the potential to drive substantial improvements in productivity and efficiency across the agricultural sector. Enhanced slurry management practices can lead to better environmental outcomes, while investments in animal health and welfare can improve the quality of life for livestock and boost farm productivity.

Moreover, the competitive nature of the grant scheme encourages applicants to carefully consider their needs and submit well-thought-out proposals. This process can foster innovation and strategic planning within the agricultural community, ultimately contributing to the long-term sustainability and resilience of the sector.

For those interested in applying, it is crucial to review the guidance provided and ensure that all application steps are followed meticulously. With the application window now open, prospective applicants are encouraged to act promptly and submit their proposals before the deadline. Good luck to all applicants as they seize this opportunity to advance their operations and contribute to the future of agriculture.
