In the ever-evolving landscape of agricultural technology, German machinery manufacturer Lemken has unveiled its latest innovation: the Solitair PT seed drill combination. This new addition to the market is designed to cater to the needs of farmers and contractors seeking precision and efficiency in their sowing operations, regardless of varying soil conditions.
The Solitair PT comes equipped as standard with a Zirkon rotary harrow, a feature that Lemken highlights as crucial for achieving a well-crumbled and level seedbed. This is particularly beneficial for those working with diverse soil types, as the rotary harrow ensures consistent preparation. The machine’s working depth, rotor speed, and driving speed can be adjusted independently, offering users a high degree of control over their operations. Additionally, the levelling bar can be adjusted either hydraulically or mechanically, further enhancing the machine’s versatility.
One of the standout features of the Solitair PT is its seed hopper options. Users can choose between a single hopper of 4,400 litres or a double hopper of 5,100 litres, the latter of which is suitable for both seed and fertiliser. This flexibility allows farmers to tailor the machine to their specific needs, whether they are dealing with large-scale operations or more specialised tasks.
The Solitair PT employs the OptiDisc coulter bar with double discs for precise seed placement. This system comes in two versions: the OptiDisc M and the OptiDisc H. The M version, or Medium, offers a maximum coulter pressure of 45 kg and is ideal for normal soils. In contrast, the H version, or Heavy, delivers up to 70 kg of pressure and is designed for heavy or hard soils where more force is required to achieve the correct sowing depth. This duality ensures that the machine can handle a wide range of soil conditions, making it a versatile tool for any farming operation.
The ability to adjust the sowing depth and coulter pressure separately is another key feature of the Solitair PT. This allows operators to maintain optimal settings even at higher working speeds and under varying conditions, ensuring consistent and accurate sowing. Such adaptability is crucial in modern agriculture, where efficiency and precision are paramount.
Lemken will showcase the Solitair PT seed drill combination for the first time at the Agritechnica trade fair, which takes place from 9 to 15 November in Hannover, Germany. This international exhibition provides an ideal platform for Lemken to present its latest innovation to a global audience of agricultural professionals.
The introduction of the Solitair PT underscores Lemken’s commitment to advancing agricultural technology. By offering a machine that combines precision, efficiency, and versatility, Lemken is addressing the evolving needs of modern farmers. As the agricultural sector continues to embrace technological advancements, innovations like the Solitair PT are set to play a pivotal role in enhancing productivity and sustainability in farming practices.
