Wisconsin’s Farm Technology Days, the state’s premier outdoor agricultural trade show, kicks off today, offering farmers a unique opportunity to explore the latest equipment and practices that could enhance their operations. Janet Keller, the newly appointed General Manager for Farm Technology Days, shared with Brownfield that attendees can expect a blend of familiar and innovative technologies. “We’ll have a lot of the tried and true things that people would expect when they come to the premier outside trade show in Wisconsin, but we’re trying to incorporate as much new innovation and new technologies and education, things and techniques that farmers might want to adopt back home.”
This year’s event is hosted at Clinton Farms in northeastern Waupaca County, a location that has seen significant advancements since its last hosting of the event. The family-run farm has recently upgraded its dairy facilities, including the addition of an 800-cow rotary parlor. This state-of-the-art system allows cows to be milked efficiently as they move in a circular motion, akin to a merry-go-round. The farm has also constructed new heifer sheds to accommodate their 2,300 head of heifers, showcasing their commitment to animal comfort and modern farming practices.
The significance of this event lies in its potential to foster connections and knowledge-sharing among farmers, equipment providers, and educators. By bringing together these diverse groups, Farm Technology Days serves as a platform for farmers to learn about new tools and techniques that they can implement on their own farms. This exchange of ideas and innovations is crucial for the continuous improvement and sustainability of agricultural practices.
Farm Technology Days is open to the public from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, Tuesday through Thursday. The event is held at Clinton Farms, located at E8351 WI-22, Bear Creek, WI 54922. This event not only highlights the advancements in agricultural technology but also underscores the importance of community and collaboration in the farming industry.
