Women-Led Agrifoodtech Innovators Revolutionize Sustainability in 2025 Cohort

In the heart of Singapore’s bustling agrifoodtech scene, Women Founders & Funders Singapore has unveiled its 2025 cohort, a group of ten outstanding entrepreneurs poised to reimagine our food systems with science, empathy, and bold vision. These founders, hailing from 15 countries, represent a significant geographic expansion, with Southeast Asian innovation hubs like Singapore, New Zealand, and Thailand leading the charge. This shift highlights the region’s growing role in agrifoodtech innovation, as solutions that regenerate rather than deplete, and technologies rooted in functional nutrition, climate resilience, and circular design take center stage.

The 2025 cohort showcases a diverse range of technologies, from functional ingredients (17.3%) to climate resilience (14.8%) and circular models (12.3%). These startups have been selected based on their product innovation, commercial viability, traction, and climate impact potential. Notably, the founders are already revenue-stage, with certifications, pilots, and customers, proving that climate-positive solutions can be commercially compelling.

Among the cohort, Aquabloom from Indonesia is turning tropical seaweed into next-generation biostimulants that raise crop yields while restoring marine ecosystems. DHF Platforms from Vietnam is tackling food waste, rural inequality, and consumer trust with tech-driven sourcing and its Crop-IQ platform. KiwiLeather Innovations from New Zealand is transforming kiwifruit waste into a premium bio-based, plant-based material, while Living Roots from Thailand is accelerating regenerative agriculture with data-driven biological fertilisers.

The implications for agritech are profound. The cohort’s focus on climate resilience and circular models underscores the industry’s shift towards sustainability. As Rebecca Sharpe, Director of Better Earth Ventures, notes, these startups showcase the breadth of agrifood innovation and prove that women-led innovation in agrifoodtech is about traction.

For investors, the 2025 cohort presents a compelling opportunity. Historically, startups led by women are faster to revenue and return more of the capital invested. As Jenn Burka, Investor with FTW Ventures, points out, there is a huge opportunity for generating meaningful profit for investors in these businesses.

The Women Founders and Funders Singapore program, now in its fourth year, thrives on collaboration with strategic partners like Better Earth Ventures, MarTech Collective, Rebbeck Consulting, and Tomorrow Studio Ventures. This ecosystem support underscores the program’s commitment to empowering visionary entrepreneurs to drive tangible impact and pave the way for a resilient and thriving planet.

As the agritech industry continues to evolve, initiatives like Women Founders and Funders Singapore play a pivotal role in spotlighting visionary leaders and driving meaningful change. For those eager to join the room where change is happening, registration is open until 22 October 2025.
