Agritechnica 2025: Smart Farming Takes Center Stage in Hanover

As the leaves begin to change color and the air turns crisp, the global agricultural community turns its attention to Hanover, Germany, where the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural machinery, Agritechnica, is set to take place from November 9-15. This year’s event, themed “Touch Smart Efficiency,” promises to be a hub of innovation, networking, and knowledge exchange, with a particular focus on the digital transformation of agriculture.

One of the most notable additions to this year’s Agritechnica is the Digital Farm Center, a dedicated platform for smart farming solutions. This new feature is designed to bring together farmers, contractors, consultants, manufacturers, start-ups, technology providers, and even investors, offering them a space to network, share knowledge, and explore innovative technologies. Visitors can expect to see live demonstrations of automation, AI, and robotics, as well as hands-on examples of smart farming. The Digital Farm Center is a clear reflection of the event’s guiding theme and the increasing importance of digital technologies in enabling sustainable and competitive farming.

Agritechnica 2025 has introduced a new concept: 7 Days – 7 Themes. For the first time, planners have dedicated an entire theme day to digitalization, recognizing the pivotal role that digital technologies play in the future of agriculture. Each day of the trade fair offers topics, formats, and networking opportunities tailored to specific professional groups, from farmers and agricultural machinery dealers to experts in research and development. This approach ensures that visitors can make the most of their time at the event, engaging with content and connections that are most relevant to their interests and needs.

The international technical program at Agritechnica is set to be more robust than ever, with 400 speakers across five DLG Expert Stages, three DLG Spotlights, and a series of pop-up talks. These sessions will cover a wide range of topics, from digital farming and soil health to efficiency and resource conservation. The agrifood start-up area, which acts as an incubator and innovation driver for the agricultural machinery sector, will also be a highlight, providing a platform for startup companies to showcase their ideas and technologies.

For international agricultural machinery dealers, Agritechnica has expanded its offering with a new matchmaking platform. The International Dealer Center in Hall 2 will serve as a central meeting place for national and international trade professionals, while the new Business Matchmaking service will facilitate targeted connections between dealers and exhibitors. This initiative underscores the event’s commitment to fostering valuable business relationships and driving the global agricultural machinery trade.

With more than 2,700 exhibitors from 50 countries and 37 international pavilions, the exhibition grounds are fully booked, a testament to Agritechnica’s global leadership in innovation. The event is expected to draw an estimated 430,000 visitors, making it a truly international gathering of agricultural professionals.

As the countdown to Agritechnica begins, the agricultural community eagerly anticipates the insights, innovations, and connections that this premier event will bring. From smart tractors and digital farm management systems to resource-efficient solutions in soil cultivation and crop protection, Agritechnica 2025 is set to showcase the full spectrum of agricultural machinery and open up new perspectives into emerging technologies. In the words of Timo Zipf, Project Manager of Agritechnica, “Agritechnica promotes connected thinking and delivers key impulses for a sustainable and productive agriculture.”
