Africa’s Tech Pioneers to Shine at 2025 Innovation Awards

The 9th edition of the Tech Innovation Awards (TIA) is poised to shine a spotlight on Africa’s digital transformation leaders, with the ceremony scheduled for November 29, 2025, at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos. This prestigious event, organised by InstinctWave Group in partnership with Digital Economy Magazine, aims to recognise and celebrate innovators, policymakers, and industry leaders driving change across the continent.

The awards ceremony will focus on trailblazers in artificial intelligence, financial technology, agricultural technology, and sustainable solutions. Akin Naphtal, CEO of InstinctWave Group, emphasised the significance of the event, stating, “The Tech Innovation Awards have consistently served as a beacon for Africa’s digital economy. Through this platform, groundbreaking ideas receive the recognition they deserve while fostering collaborations that scale startups, amplify under-represented voices, and attract investment into the continent’s tech ecosystem.”

Open to submissions from individuals, organisations, teams, and government entities operating across Africa, the awards will be selected through a rigorous merit-based process. The criteria focus on innovations that enhance connectivity, promote economic inclusion, and support sustainable growth in line with Africa’s Agenda 2063.

TIA 2025 introduces several dynamic award categories, including Best Bank in Sustainability, Innovative Renewable Energy Provider of the Year, Financial Inclusion Bank of the Year, Cross-border Fintech Solution Award, Technology Person of the Year, and Innovative Tech Delivery Company of the Year. Additional categories recognise achievements in digital infrastructure, AgriTech innovation, and transformative logistics solutions.

The implications of the Tech Innovation Awards are far-reaching. By celebrating visionary leaders and organisations, the event dismantles barriers to digital inclusion and economic empowerment. It positions Lagos as a hub of innovation and places Africa at the forefront of the global technology narrative. The awards also serve as a catalyst for collaboration, scaling startups, and attracting investment into the continent’s tech ecosystem.

As Africa continues to make strides in digital transformation, events like the Tech Innovation Awards play a crucial role in recognising and amplifying the efforts of those driving this change. The ceremony promises to be a significant milestone in Africa’s tech journey, fostering a community of innovators and setting the stage for future advancements.
