In a significant stride towards empowering India’s smallholder farmers, Arya.ag, the nation’s largest and only profitable grain commerce platform, has launched 25 Smart Farm Centres across the country. The initiative, unveiled on the 6th of November, 2025, in Bengaluru, Karnataka, marks a pivotal moment in Arya.ag’s mission to foster a profitable and data-driven agricultural ecosystem.
The Smart Farm Centres are designed to bring technology and data intelligence directly to the farmgate, addressing the immediate and localised challenges faced by farmers. Managed by a cadre of community-based women leaders, these Centres offer a suite of advanced tools, including IoT-enabled soil diagnostics, hyper-local weather insights, drone imaging, climate insurance, and farmer training. These resources aim to simplify decision-making and improve productivity at every stage of cultivation, from sowing and irrigation to harvest planning and financing.
Developed in collaboration with several technology partners, the Smart Farm Centres exemplify how partnerships in technology, data analytics, and community trust can drive measurable impact at the farm level. Shenoy Mathew, Chief Sustainability Officer at Arya.ag, highlighted the importance of this initiative, stating, “Farmers have long worked within a system defined by uncertainty of soil, weather, policy, and markets. The Smart Farm Centres bring them the intelligence and network to face that uncertainty. By bringing technology directly to the farmgate and training local community members to manage these Centres, we shift the power back into the hands of the farmers. This is how resilience is built—through information and access.”
The impact of the Smart Farm Centres is already evident. Suman Yadav, a Community Value Chain Resource Person (CVRP), shared how timely weather updates from the Centres helped farmers harvest their paddy crops before a cyclone, saving their entire yield. Similarly, farmer Swapnil Satinge reported improved soybean yields and grain quality after adopting high-yield varieties and better farming techniques guided by the Centres.
The Smart Farm Centres are seamlessly integrated into Arya.ag’s broader ecosystem of storage, finance, and markets, creating a transparent and connected value chain from farm to market. This integration strengthens income stability, improves risk management, and supports long-term growth for smallholders. Arya.ag aims to establish a network of 100 Smart Farm Centres over the next three years, further expanding its reach and impact.
Currently, Arya.ag works with over 1,600 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) and 800,000+ farmers across India. Its network spans 60% of the country’s districts, covering more than 12,000 warehouses, and facilitating grain aggregation worth USD 3 billion annually. The platform also enables USD 1.5 billion in credit for farmers and their organisations.
With the launch of Smart Farm Centres, Arya.ag reinforces its position as India’s most comprehensive agri ecosystem, combining technology, data, and community partnerships to empower smallholders and their organisations. This initiative not only underscores Arya.ag’s commitment to building a resilient and sustainable future for Indian agriculture but also sets a benchmark for the industry, demonstrating the transformative potential of technology and data-driven solutions in agriculture.
