PJTAU & BIOWAY-VIETNAM Revolutionize Farming with Rapid Bio-Fertil

In a significant stride towards sustainable agriculture, Professor Jayashankar Telangana State Agricultural University (PJTAU) has joined hands with Vietnam-based BIOWAY-VIETNAM to introduce a revolutionary technology that can convert agricultural and organic waste into bio-fertilisers in a mere six hours. This partnership, formalised during a recent high-level visit, marks a pivotal moment in Telangana’s agricultural landscape.

The technology, a result of extensive research, can process a wide range of organic waste, including crop residues, meat waste, and horse dung, into nutrient-rich bio-fertilisers. This is a game-changer, as conventional methods of producing bio-fertilisers typically take several days. Professor Aldas Janaiah, Vice-Chancellor of PJTAU, highlighted the urgency of this innovation, given the alarming consumption of chemical fertilisers like urea in Telangana. “Farmers are actively seeking sustainable alternatives, and this partnership is a major step towards reducing chemical dependency and promoting eco-friendly farming,” he stated.

The implications of this technology are far-reaching. By significantly reducing the production time of bio-fertilisers, it offers a viable and swift alternative to chemical fertilisers. Moreover, the technology’s ability to utilise diverse organic waste not only addresses the issue of waste management but also contributes to environmental sustainability. The installation of the equipment at PJTAU, free of cost for two years, underscores the commitment of both parties towards this cause.

Post-evaluation, the university plans to scale up production and distribute the bio-fertilisers widely among farmers. This initiative is expected to reduce environmental pollution, improve soil health, and alleviate the financial burden of fertiliser subsidies on governments. The partnership also signifies BIOWAY-VIETNAM’s global expansion, as this is their first venture in India and the 13th worldwide.

As Telangana strides towards a greener future, this collaboration between PJTAU and BIOWAY-VIETNAM stands as a testament to the power of innovation in transforming traditional practices. The journey towards sustainable agriculture has just been accelerated, promising a healthier environment and a more prosperous future for farmers.
