Trinity Acquires Agrimetrics, Revolutionizing Agri-Tech

In a significant move set to bolster agricultural technology, Trinity Natural Capital Group has acquired Agrimetrics, integrating a decade of advanced satellite imagery tools into its existing Sandy platform. This acquisition is poised to create one of the most comprehensive natural capital toolkits available, combining farmer observations, soil tests, on-farm instruments, and remote sensing data.

The enhanced system will provide frequent updates on crop performance, soil conditions, and water flows across fields in the UK, Europe, and beyond. Farmers will benefit from earlier warnings of crop stress, disease risk, or water shortages, and gain the ability to measure outcomes such as yield forecasts and carbon sequestration with greater confidence. The richer data is also expected to support access to natural capital credit markets by providing more robust evidence of environmental management.

Agrimetrics, founded in 2015 as one of the UK’s four Agri-Tech Centres, has developed AI-driven tools capable of identifying crop types from space and predicting yields under pressure. Its technology has been utilized across the food supply chain and by government bodies to improve soil quality and reduce herbicide use.

Dr. Hosein Khajeh-Hosseiny, founder and executive chairman of Trinity Natural Capital Group, emphasized that the move safeguards and extends a decade of UK innovation. He noted that farmers will gain more robust analytics with a much-reduced data collection burden. Agrimetrics director David Flanders echoed this sentiment, stating that the acquisition ensures the company’s satellite analytics will reach even more end-users in farming and environmental management.

Professor Jonathan Hillier, Trinity AgTech’s managing director of science, highlighted that the combined technology will give farmers a far richer picture of what’s happening on their land, helping them make more credible and profitable decisions. Dr. Khajeh-Hosseiny added that the strengthened platform will equip the food and farming sector with the best intelligence to boost profitability, resilience, and environmental performance.
