In an exciting development for precision agriculture, TeeJet Technologies and Inflexion Point Technologies, LLC (IPT) have joined forces to bring the innovative Prescriptive On-Planter Seed Treater (POP-ST) solution to the market. This collaboration aims to revolutionize in-field seed treatment decisions, enabling real-time, data-driven micro-application directly at planting.
TeeJet, a leader in precision application technology, and IPT, the creator of the patented POP-ST technology, are combining their expertise to offer farmers a new way to optimize seed treatment investments. The partnership aligns with TeeJet’s mission to help farmers apply the right product on the right acre with precision and reliability. “Partnering with IPT and their prescriptive, on-planter seed treatment solution is a natural extension of that mission,” said Doug Gamm, Sales and Marketing Manager, Electronics, TeeJet Technologies. “It gives farmers a new tool to turn data into decisions at the seed level.”
The POP-ST system is the industry’s first prescriptive, on-planter seed treatment system, compatible with virtually any planter in the market. This modular, planter-mounted system can be installed on new or existing planters and is controlled by prescriptive software. Farmers can apply seed treatments in real time, directly to the seed immediately prior to planting. They can also adjust products and rates in real-time based on various field variables that impact profitability, such as soil type, hybrid or variety, yield history, disease or insect risk, and management practice.
The POP-ST system allows farmers to invest more in areas where the payoff is greatest and enables new biological and specialty seed treatments that are constrained by conventional treating or in-furrow approaches. “POP-ST was built to expand farmer choice and unlock the next class of seed treatments — especially biological and regenerative options that farmers want but can’t always get through traditional treating channels,” said Nick Iwig, CEO of Inflexion Point Technologies. “TeeJet’s footprint and commitment to application excellence make them the ideal partner to scale this technology and help farmers invest in treatments where they create the most profit.”
By leveraging TeeJet’s electronics and controllers, the POP-ST system is designed to be installed on farmers’ planters regardless of make, model, or age. This results in a field-ready solution that allows growers to adopt prescriptive seed treatment without changing how they farm or who they work with today.
The partners expect the POP-ST system, powered by TeeJet, will support a growing pipeline of seed-applied products, including biologicals and bio stimulants, targeted disease and insect management tools, regenerative and soil-health-focused treatments, and specialty products that require precise, on-seed delivery. This innovation aims to help farmers strengthen profit while reducing their overall chemical footprint, marking a significant step forward in sustainable and precision agriculture.
