NALC’s December 2025: Outreach and Key Agricultural Insights

As we step into the new year, the National Agricultural Law Center (NALC) reflects on a productive December 2025, marked by significant outreach efforts and the release of valuable resources. The NALC, known for its commitment to providing trusted research and information in agricultural and food law, continued to engage with stakeholders across the country through various platforms and events.

Throughout December, the NALC focused on disseminating information through blog posts and publications, while also actively participating in key agricultural events. The organization’s outreach efforts were led by its director, Harrison Pittman, and senior staff attorney, Rusty Rumley, who both made significant contributions to the agricultural community.

Harrison Pittman, NALC Director, presented on the Farm Bill and tax provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act at the Arkansas Farm Bureau Annual Convention in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on December 4. The convention provided a platform for Pittman to discuss the intricacies of the Farm Bill and its implications for farmers and ranchers. Additionally, Pittman attended the Arkansas Agricultural Council’s Annual Board meeting in Little Rock on December 11, further emphasizing the NALC’s commitment to engaging with agricultural leaders and policymakers.

Rusty Rumley, Senior Staff Attorney, conducted an in-person presentation on estate planning at an event hosted by Farm Credit of Western Arkansas in Lewisville, Arkansas, on December 2. Rumley’s expertise in agricultural law and estate planning proved invaluable to attendees, who gained insights into the importance of proper planning for the future of their agricultural operations.

Emily Stone, Staff Attorney at the NALC, attended the National Young Farmers Educational Association Institute 2025 in Nashville, Tennessee, from December 9 to 12. The institute provided a unique opportunity for young farmers to learn from industry experts and network with their peers. Stone’s presence at the event underscored the NALC’s dedication to supporting the next generation of agricultural leaders.

While the NALC did not release any news releases or host webinars in December, the organization’s blog, “The Feed,” continued to provide timely and relevant information on agricultural and food law topics. The blog serves as an essential resource for stakeholders seeking to stay informed about the latest developments in the field.

The NALC’s publications also played a crucial role in disseminating information throughout December. The organization’s publications cover a wide range of topics, from farm policy and regulatory issues to food safety and labor law. These resources are designed to be accessible and practical, ensuring that stakeholders can easily apply the information to their operations.

In addition to its outreach efforts and publications, the NALC was mentioned in the media during December. The organization’s expertise in agricultural law and its commitment to providing trusted information were recognized by various media outlets, further solidifying the NALC’s reputation as a leading resource in the field.
