SeedMaster Sows $10M for Big Expansion in Agri-Tech

SeedMaster, a pioneer in no-till seeding technology, has announced a significant $10 million investment to expand its manufacturing capabilities. This expansion includes the acquisition of additional land and a building adjacent to their current headquarters in Emerald Park, a community just outside Regina, Saskatchewan. The company plans to add another 6,000 square feet to the existing 6,000-square-foot facility, effectively doubling its production space.

“Demand for SeedMaster technology has grown especially over the last couple of years, which had prompted our search for a suitable location to expand,” stated Don Henry, CEO of SeedMaster. “We were able to acquire the space beside our current facilities and we’re excited to enter this new phase of growth at SeedMaster, right here in Emerald Park.”

Founded in 2002, SeedMaster has become a vital player in the agricultural sector, producing innovative seeding systems that are utilized by grain farmers across North America, Australia, and Eastern Europe. The company’s product lineup, which includes the Air Drill, Ultra Pro II on-frame tank system, Ultra SR toolbar, and Nova Air Cart system, is entirely manufactured at its Saskatchewan facility.

The construction of the new facility is set to commence this summer, with operations expected to begin by the end of 2024. The expanded space will be equipped with advanced machinery, including a CNC steel plate cutting machine and a state-of-the-art automated painting system. This investment is anticipated to create room for an additional 20-25 employees, underscoring SeedMaster’s commitment to local job creation and economic growth.

“As we launch several new products over the next 24 months, this expansion is critical for us to meet further market demand we are generating,” noted Tim Criddle, Global Sales Director at SeedMaster. “This tremendous investment in capacity is a solid show of support and confidence our ownership has in SeedMaster’s continued product development and growth strategy, now and into the future.”

SeedMaster is gearing up to introduce an updated suite of seeding equipment for 2025. Among the new products are the Ultra Pro 3 (UP3) on-frame tank system, the E Series Air Cart, and a new single knife air drill. These innovations will be showcased at the Ag in Motion event from July 16-18, 2024, in Langham, Saskatchewan.

This expansion marks a pivotal moment for SeedMaster, as it not only meets the rising demand for its products but also strengthens its position as a leader in agricultural technology. The company’s commitment to innovation and growth continues to drive its success, benefiting both its workforce and the broader agricultural community.
